I'm feeling today....The September issue of

SOUTH TEXAS SUNSHINE!

The
Alamo
Dressage Fall Show was this weekend at the San Antonio
Rose Palace. I attended to photograph horses for
Campbell-Urban and
Oakhaven.
C-U brought a number of
students with their horses as well as three recently
imported Dutch Warmbloods for schooling. Magnificent
horseflesh!!! I just had to say that since two of the Dutch
horses are stallions (and the gelding used to be :) and
truly have all of the va-va-va-voom that only testosterone
can bring to a photograph. Rick Urban gave all three light
training sessions as I photographed them. Very, very nice.
Debbie and the gang from
Oakhaven brought two of their lovely homegrown horses -
Eowyn and Frodo. I don't know all of the end results but
do know that Frodo won at least 1 of his classes.

EXPLORING NEW FRONTIERS
I just thought photographing
horses was challenging... NOPE, it's a piece of cake
compared to babies!
But, the results are so worth it. There is just something
magical about a baby's skin. It's the most beautiful
translucent material on Earth. Not to mention the smile of a
new mother - wow. Awe-inspiring and gorgeous. This has
definitely been an adventure into uncharted territories for
me, but one that has totally captured my imagination.

Another
Hy Court show
is now in the history books. Congrats again to Susan Fuller
on her High Scoring Dressage Ride and also to Amy Ramsdell
on her High Scoring Sport Horse Versatility Ride!
Susan was riding one of the
Oakhaven horses, Corazon, and scored 69.2% on Training
Level Test 3.
Amy was riding her horse Ruckus and had a combined score of
145.02!
Both girls will receive a free 8x10 custom portrait print
courtesy of..... me!

am proud to say that this project, a benefit for

official photographer and am so looking forward to watching

GUINEVERE AT HY
COURT
A big personal event that has been ongoing since
mid-February is my little mare Guinevere spending
time with Janet Manley at
Hy
Court. Janet has been working to iron out a number of
troubling things going on with Guinnie. She has had
absolutely marvelous success and I think I will have an
entirely new and improved, and pain free horse. One of the
things that we did is take her to see
Janek Vluggen for an evaluation. Words cannot describe
the talent, affinity, and intuition that this man has with
horses but I am so thankful for him and for listening to
Janet about taking Guinnie to see him. Combined with the
beautiful lines of communication that Janet has opened with
this horse it is nothing short of a miracle. I am really
looking forward to bringing her home on June 1st!

The spring season is
in full swing and I thoroughly enjoy seeing all of the
lovely horses in action.

I DIDN'T SIGN UP TO LIVE IN
SEATTLE!
Nothing against Seattle, it's
just that I'm a native Austinite and too much rain is a
little bit foreign! Despite the fact that many have said
that Texas has two seasons - Drought and Flood. The last few
months, Austin has begun
to take on a lot of Seattle-like qualities. Such as our yard
being underwater and my horse growing fins... the sun broke
through for a few brief moments at sunset tonight (I think I
heard the Hallelujah Chorus) and I grabbed this shot -

HANS BISS CLINIC
Hans Biss taught a clinic at Oakhaven March 17th through
19th. All student riders enjoyed the sessions and Hans'
